Make playgrounds great again!
I swear by the fact that having a pre-wedding shoot in Singapore doesn’t always have to be at the most scenic of places or the wildest of locations. Sometimes, even the unlikely of spots can yield the coolest results too. Again, i’m super thankful for adventurous couples like Wei Khan and Danielle for readily coming on board to try whatever with me in our 3 hour evening shoot.
It was a risky bet when we decided to go for it, not knowing if the rain was going to continue. But as all risks go, when it works, it really pays off. We climbed up to the abandoned fort (pictures for another time) but when we came down, the see-saw was a perfect place to start with a quick re-creation of an old picture they had. From then on, we went all in for some fun vibes. Was it worth? Worth.
Some couples or photographers go for safer choices so that they don’t waste the time or place to get their precious photos. I don’t fault them. But that’s why it’s important to find a photographer who knows how to make the best of absolutely any place at any time in any situation. In times like these, I thrive. Oh yes. I absolutely live for moments like these.
Labrador Park has a really cool wooden stilted maze at the playground that I really enjoyed walking through. Whenever I step in there, I can’t help but feel nervous that i’d get lost in there. A silly thought but definitely hilarious if the photographer’s trying to get out but gets stuck! Thankfully it’s a no brainer. Posing my cool couple in there is also a no brainer. It really helps that they’re down for it too!
The little playground tunnels make for great frames too have I mentioned? Symmetry, rule of thirds, framing and all that. I don’t even have to bust out my copper ring for that.
In the end, it’s really all down to making the most of whatever environment we get. But one thing’s for sure, we make the most of it no matter what. Stay safe and stay cool!
