I never really thought much about having a session with my couples after their big day. Sure, Pre-weddings and Actual Day weddings are vitally important in helping to make memorable images before the wedding and even throughout the big day itself, but having a session AFTER the wedding?

Enter Daniel and Kylie, probably my most fun-loving, adventurous couple to date. They had just gotten married the week before and when I asked about their Pre-Wedding shoot, it turned out they hadn’t had one officially. “That’s crazy”, I thought. And yet, here was the best opportunity to give them great pictures that they could hold for a lifetime, fresh off their “I DO”s.

We decided on an urban theme and headed to Golden Mile Tower, a gorgeously rustic building set on the outskirts of town for the sunset. As we arrived, we instantly knew this was the perfect place to be at for the evening. The faded walls, forlorn flooring and puddles of water reminiscent of rain that came and went beckoned to us.

I’m a real sucker when I see places people don’t often frequent on a regular basis, and when my couples decide to get adventurous with me to explore, it brings out a certain kind of psycho in me. “Hey, you wanna do something crazy?” is usually the first thing they hear when I spot something that requires a little climbing, a little crazy, a little touch of madness. Thankfully, Dan and Kylie are equally mad, so we climbed up the ladder to who-knows-where.

Dan and Kylie admitted that it took a while to get used to the fact that they were finally married, and as the day faded into night, it was magical as I sat behind the lens observing two beautiful souls settling right into their groove as husband and wife. In between all that, two rings, the high-beams of a car and this dude firing away behind the camera. Keep being you my friends.
